Build Credibility by Being Interviewed

Who does CNN call when they need a comment on huge news story? An expert in the field.

“But, Dave, why would I want to be the person they call?”  Because it builds your credibility.

There are entire PR firms that specialize in making sure news organizations know that you are the right person to call. We view people who are interviewed on the news, online, or even in a podcast, as experts.

I’ve seen a lot of business owners start up a podcast and soon run out of topics. What they end up doing is turning the microphone (& the spotlight) onto someone else. They’ll have guests in and start interviewing them.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with that. But if you started podcasting to highlight yourself and build your own credibility, interviewing someone else isn’t going to do that for you.

The point is: experts get interviewed. That’s what we do at Shortcut Content. We interview our customers every month in a podcast setting to help them build credibility. We keep the spotlight right where it belongs – on you.
