Shortcut Content: Who? What? Why?
A few years ago, my business partner, Paul Boomer, and I were working with advertising clients who needed to be creating content for their websites and social media, but we couldn’t get them to do it. And we couldn’t write it for them. So we decided to create a boutique content production company called Shortcut Blogging.
We discovered that if we couldn’t get the business owners to write about their stories and expertise, we could get them to talk about it. We started recording those conversations and producing blogs from them. Paul has since moved on to other projects, but I’ve continued to evolve the company into what it is today – Shortcut Content.
I think one of the biggest mistakes people make is thinking they can have someone step in, do some research, and write content for them. If you’re the business owner, if you’re the founder of the company, if you’re the expert, then you know the stories and have lived the experiences. And we would much rather hear that from your point of view than from a second or third-hand source.
We have a free outline exercise that will take you under an hour to do and, at the end of it, you’ll have enough topics to give you a year of content. And Shortcut Content can help you produce it.
